Fight NQ have an upcoming fight night in Townsville and while participants will be throwing punches, they are also throwing their support behind Malanda girl, Missy.
Young Missy is only 9 years old and facing a battle with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia that has her receiving chemotherapy in Brisbane for up to 12 months. In order to keep this family of 5 together and able to support Missy fully, they all need to commute between Brisbane and North Queensland - not a small trip at 1700kms!
Missy's family want to be able to support her as much as possible and mum, Anj, quit work in order to be by Missy's side throughout the long treatment process. Missy's Dad, Rob, is self-employed and any time off means more financial strain on the family.
Throughout this difficult time the family is showing immense courage and strength. They have even kept their sense of fun with the Facebook page, Lamby's Adventure - a look at Missy's journey through the eyes of her beloved toy lamb.
Fight NQ host Muay Thai fight nights through North Queensland and the next Townsville event is set for 11th February, 2017. When Fight NQ heard about Missy, the team knew they wanted to help out.
To ease the financial burden on Missy's family, Fight NQ will be holding a raffle at their upcoming fight event, 'Perfect Execution'. There has been over $1000 worth of prizes already donated by local businesses and funds raised from the raffle will be donated to Missy's family.
