Are you looking for a day trip destination close to Townsville? Somewhere you can enjoy a picnic lunch after a short bushwalk to a lookout with stunning views?
Then add Jourama Falls to your list of must-do's!
Located in the Paluma Range National Park, Jourama Falls can be found 91kms north of Townsville and 24kms south of Ingham.
Jourama Falls has a few picnic areas along the road to the main carpark and there is also a camping ground with an amenity block. There is a short walk through bushland before you enter the cool and refreshing rainforest.
The walking track takes you across a flowing stream, over rocks and boulders, past the rockpools and up a moderate level incline to reach the lookout.
Once at the lookout, Jourama Falls is laid out before you in all it's natural splendour! There are breathtaking views of the waterfalls that cascade down the natural rock formations, open bushland that surrounds the areas, and a birdseye view of the rockpools below.
Take a while to appreciate the views and listen to the sounds of nature that surround you, before taking the wall back down the hill and through the rainforest again.
**Please note that the road leading to the main carpark for the walking track can be subject to flooding during the wet season**
